Wilkyn Privacy Policy

Some items below are marked (planned, not yet active) — they describe services we intend to
turn on before or shortly after launch but that are not yet collecting data today. We will update
this page and the effective date when they go live.
Wilkyn ("we") is a shared pet-care log. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
Active today:
- Account information (via Clerk): your email address and authentication identifiers. Clerk is
- A pseudonymous account identifier (SpacetimeDB Identity): a stable id that ties your data to
- Content you create: pets you add (name, species, and details you enter), care logs and notes,
our authentication provider; we do not store your password.
your account across devices. It is not your name or email.
weight logs, streaks and quests, and the household and friend relationships you form in the app. (Photo uploads are not part of v0.1 and are planned for a later version.)
Who can see your content. Sharing is the core purpose of Wilkyn: care logs, weight logs, streaks, and pet details you add are visible to the members of your household, and milestone posts (like streak achievements) plus your kudos are visible to the friends you connect with. Content is never visible to people you have not joined a household with or accepted as a friend.
- Device and locale signals: timezone and locale strings, used to schedule reminders and format
dates. We do not collect precise location.
Planned, not yet active:
- Diagnostics (Sentry): we plan to send crash reports and error diagnostics to Sentry so we can
- Product analytics (PostHog, EU-hosted): we plan to send a defined set of named, in-app events
fix bugs, keyed to your pseudonymous account identifier. This is not yet connected in the current build — no crash data is being sent to Sentry today.
(e.g. sign-up, first log, sending an invite) to PostHog's EU region to understand and improve core flows, with automatic event capture and session replay OFF. This is not yet connected in the current build.
We do not collect payment information — Wilkyn is free in v0.1.
Why we collect it
To provide the service (sync your pet-care data across your household and devices) and to send the reminders you configure. Once connected, diagnostics keep the app reliable and analytics help us improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
Third parties we share with
Active today:
- Clerk — authentication.
- SpacetimeDB (Clockwork Labs) / Maincloud — application database hosting.
Planned, not yet active:
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics, once connected.
- PostHog (EU region) — product analytics, once connected.
- Cloudflare — hosts this policy and our terms of service as static pages; a daily database
backup export on Cloudflare is planned but not yet running.
Each processes data solely to provide their service to us. Once active, analytics and diagnostics are keyed to your pseudonymous account identifier, never sold.
Data retention & backups
We keep your account data while your account is active. We are building an automated daily backup (planned: a Cloudflare R2 export retained on a rolling ~30-day window) to protect against data loss; it is not yet running today, so back up anything important to you separately in the meantime. Full account-deletion tooling is planned; to request deletion in the meantime, contact support@wilkyn.com.
Your choices
- Notifications: manage or disable reminders in the app, or in your device settings.
- Access / deletion: contact support@wilkyn.com to request a copy or deletion of your data.
Children
Wilkyn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this policy as the app evolves — including once Sentry, PostHog, and automated backups go live — and post the new effective date here.
